Bob Cary was the artist husband of the silent screen actress Diana Serra Cary whose inability to transfer to the "talkies" inspired the film "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane". Later in life she wrote her autobiography "What Ever Happened to Baby Peggy", in which she tells her tale and the story of her long marriage with her gay husband Jim. A copy of this biography will be included with this painting when it is sold.
