| Framed oil on canvas painting. Signed and dated 1999. One of McCarthy's major works. The four figures are drying off in the shade of trees by a stretch of water. The level countryside and the village buildings of McCarthy's home area in the Fenlands of East Anglia are indicated through the trees. All four figures are based on one model in different positions who inspired McCarthy at this period. All in all, one of his finest paintings.
